Concept Work
Cultural Branding Project
This was the main project for my Cultural Branding class. I began with creating a proposal to justify targeting a specific subculture, in this case I chose tabletop gamers. I then explained to my professor why I chose this subculture, as outlined in my Subculture Proposal below.
I then conducted primary research to deepen my understanding of tabletop gamers. I engaged with them in person while they played and held individual interviews to learn about their unique interests, needs, and preferences. The information I found is reflected in my Primary Research presentation.
The next step involved applying these insights to a brand of my choice. I selected Barnes & Noble and explored how the brand could effectively connect with tabletop gamers. My final recommendations based on this research are shown in the Branding Recommendations presentation.
Tiny Tin Co.
Tiny Tin Co. was an Etsy shop I launched to gain hands-on experience in product sales and marketing. I designed and created miniature tin painting sets through a process of testing and refining, ensuring the final product was more efficient than other tin paint sets I found on the market. I also developed the logo, set up the Etsy shop, and managed sales.
For my Advanced Social Media class final presentation, I used Tiny Tin Co. as a case study, as shown in the presentation below. During this project, I experimented with product photography using a Sony DSLR camera and photo editing using Adobe Creative Cloud. Some of the images below were featured on Tiny Tin Co.’s Instagram and Etsy shop to showcase the products and build the brand’s visual identity.
Released Reentry Program Consulting
For my Emerging Enterprise Consulting course, my team of student consultants collaborated with Emily Westerholm, founder of the Released Reentry Program. This organization supports individuals impacted by incarceration as they transition back into society. My primary contribution to the project was developing a comprehensive Social Media and Digital Marketing Handbook. This guide, shown below, includes actionable steps for setting up social media pages and creating a professional website, providing a foundation for building the organization’s online presence.
